On June 7th 2022, the Embassy of Japan in Lebanon held, in collaboration with Sagesse School Brasilia - Baabda, a "Japan Day" event that attracted around 1,000 students in its premises.
The event introduced Japan through, Japanese martial arts show, short Japanese theater play, a Japanese animated movie (Doraemon), and a Japanese music mini concert of Shakuhachi (Japanese traditional bamboo flute). In addition, the Embassy offered many workshops on Japanese traditional clothing (Yukata), Japanese calligraphy (Shodo), paper folding art (Origami) and the traditional art of flower arrangement (Ikebana).
During the event, Ambassador OKUBO Takeshi praised the collaboration of Sagesse Brasilia School in organizing this event and expressed his sincere hope that "Japan Day" would serve as a gateway to the Japanese culture. Father Jad Chlouk, principle of Sagesse School Brasilia, praised the existing cooperation between Lebanon and Japan especially in the cultural fields and expressed his appreciation to the Embassy of Japan for organizing this important cultural event.
