After months of media campaigns and accusations led by the former Telecommunications Minister, Boutros Harb, and the former head of state-owned telecom operator Ogero, Abdel Moneim Youssef, as well as by some local TV stations, newspapers and media websites, the truth finally came out and justice prevailed.
On Monday, February 5, 2018, the single criminal judge in Metn, Mansour Qai, rendered a decision canceling all legal suits filed against the defendants, Studiovision s.a.l. and MTV Lebanon CEO, Michel Gabriel Murr, charged with embezzlement for their alleged illegal involvement in the Zaarour network.
The defendants were found not guilty, and all the civil claims submitted against them by the plaintiff (i.e. the Lebanese State) have been rejected.
