Minister of Education, Marwan Hamadeh, who's boycotting today's Cabinet session for educational reasons said on Thursday that Foreign Minister Gebran Bassil's decision to extend the expatriates' registration deadline "has purely electoral intentions."
"If I were present at the Cabinet session, I would have voted against this item," Hamadeh added, noting that Minister Ayman Choucair, who is currently attending the session, will vote against it.
On the other hand, Hamadeh did not see a quick solution to the 1994 military officers' decree "unless the settlement was based on either signing the decree or reconsidering it because it violates article 47 of the Defense Law."
