Caretaker Environment Minister Nasser Yassin conducted discussions in London with British Minister of State for Climate, Environment, and Energy, and Member of the House of Lords, Richard Benyon.
Talks reportedly focused on supporting Lebanon in developing environmental programs and projects, particularly backing the Green Investment Fund launched by the Ministry of Environment months ago at the climate conference.
Minister Yassin also held a meeting with Sam Grout-Smith, the Regional Director for the Middle East and North Africa at the British Foreign Office, and convened a series of meetings to explain the work program of the Green Investment Facility, developed by the Ministry of Environment in partnership with the United Nations Development Programme.
The "Cedar Oxygen" team, which assists in developing the investment portfolio of the facility, participated, presenting avenues for cooperation with global financial institutions and ways to enhance green investments and those linked to climate action.
