Qatar’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs says a Qatari-Turkish ship has departed from the Mediterranean port of Mersin in Turkey loaded with 1,908 tonnes of humanitarian aid for Gaza.
In a statement, Qatari Minister of State for International Cooperation Lolwah Al-Khater said on Wednesday the ship set sail for the Egyptian Port of El-Arish “to support brothers in the Gaza Strip, who have been struggling for seven months with the horrors of killing, forced displacement, and hunger, while producing unforgettable stories of steadfastness and sacrifice that inspired the whole world”.
The Qatar Fund for Development contributed 1,358 tonnes of the total load, while Turkey’s Disaster and Emergency Management Presidency offered 550 tonnes of aid, a statement by the ministry said.
