Today is the D-day, either one of the Syrian delegations will quit the conference because negotiations would have reached a dead-end or a miracle would happen to stop the war in Syria.
The first option is more likely to be adopted, and the transitional stage which UN envoy Lakhdar Brahimi is negotiating with the rival delegations in one room might lead to greater dispute.
Political negotiations were launched today Monday after holding humanitarian talks Sunday whereby Brahimi said that the regime had agreed to allow women and children safe passage from besieged rebel-held areas of the city of Homs.
Although the negotiations were taking place in separate rooms where Brahimi was moving between them, but he expressed his gladness for the path of the negotiations, praising the respect shown by both parties.
However this respect would be embarrassing once the talks set to tackle the explosive issue of a transfer of power, despite President Bashar al-Assad's repeated vows that he will not step down.
Syrian regime delegation insist on resolving the power issue in Syria and through the ballots.
