The mother of Roula Yaacoub cannot believe till now that her daughter left definitely this world for being beaten till death by her husband.
Roula's mother said that her daughter who lives with her, her husband Kalam al-Bazy and her five daughters, was often assaulted by her husband and when she tries to interfere, Roula used to stop her and ask her not to.
Halba's citizens were mostly angry when rumors said that the husband may come out of jail to take part in the funerals and burry his wife in his family's cemeteries.
Citizens blocked the road to protest and threatened to bring the body from Hospital al-Youssef. In fact, that's what happened and Roula came home for the last time to say goodbye to her mom.
Roula passed away but many like her are still beaten by their husbands. Isn't it time to rescue them and approve the law that is in the parliament's drawers since years?
